FROM THE DIRECTOR, BALLET HUNTSVILLE / ACADEMY OF CLASSIC ARTS

                                                       Clinton Rothwell

I
am so pleased to announce the appointment of Clinton Rothwell as the Artistic Director of Ballet Huntsville and Artistic Adviser to Academy of Classic Arts. Clinton will be joining us in the month of February, 2009. He brings with him an illustrious career as a dancer, teacher and choreographer. Many have seen his work in Huntsville, Alabama over the past two years and we look forward to his continued  contribution to the arts in Huntsville and the surrounding communities.

WHAT'S BEEN HAPPENING?

Clinton has returned from California where he was setting two of his ballets for California Riverside Ballet and teaching Master Classes at UCI.
I am very excited to announce California Riverside Ballet's 2009 season will include my ballet "Allegro Assai" commissioned this year.

Ballet Huntsville / Academy of Classic Arts dancers are hard at work preparing for our up-coming performances for Christmas, Choreographers Workshop, Spring Performance and a Year-End performance for Academy of Classic Arts students.

STATE OF THE ART DANCE FLOOR

Sprung dance floor under construction                                          70 foot finished dance floor

Ballet Huntsville / Academy of Classic Arts spared no expense in the building of this large dance floor. The seven layered sprung floor with Marley as the last surface ensures our dancers will have the very best.

An open plan of our studio offers viewers the opportunity to watch classes or rehearsals and to hear all the teachers' comments which is a large part of our mission at Ballet Huntsville / Academy of Classic Arts.

There is a safe children's play room, with large viewing windows, to keep them happy while their siblings are learning the art of classical ballet.

A restful lounge is provided for parents, grandparents and visitors to relax, study or just take time to catch up on that book you have been wanting to read.
