We are so very blessed to welcome Darlene Colon to our family at the Academy of Classic Arts. Darlene will be heading our Jazz program and we look forward to her expertise and nurturing classes.
New York born Darlene Colon has performed, choreographed and instructed Jazz, Classical Ballet and Ballroom Dancing in the United States and abroad including the Caribbean and Europe.
Her stage and choreographic credits include: Dance Captain/Dancer aboard the Norwegian Cruise Line's ship "The Norway". She choreographed condensed productions of "Will Rogers Follies", "Sea Legs Goes to Hollywood", "Oklahoma" and "The Best of Broadway" to name a few. Darlene choreographed and performed in a live television production of "Welcome to New Yourk" which was taped live in Times Square for Broadcasting in England. Acting as choreographer and performer, she competed with Dance Educators of America and Dance Masters. Ms. Colon has also performed with The Young American dancers in Las Vagas.
Darlene has instructed for the Alvin Ailey School of Dance for their world-renowned scholarship program as well as Ballet Hispanico in New York City. In addition, she has devoted many hours to teaching dance to blind children through Lighthouse, a charitable organization located in New York City. Growing up on Long Island, she has recently gone back to share her unique experiences with her students at Center Stage Dance Studio.
Darlene Colon embodies that which makes up a complete dancer, a combination of skill, intuitive musicality, caring for students, and absolute self expression. She is delighted to be able to combine her love for the classical arts and her dream to teach, coach and mentor the talented students at the Academy of Classic Arts of Huntsville.

STATE OF THE ART DANCE FLOOR
Sprung dance floor under construction 70 foot finished dance floor
Ballet Huntsville / Academy of Classic Arts spared no expense in the building of this large dance floor. The seven layered sprung floor with Marley as the last surface ensures our dancers will have the very best.
An open plan of our studio offers viewers the opportunity to watch classes or rehearsals and to hear all the teachers' comments which is a large part of our mission at Ballet Huntsville / Academy of Classic Arts.
There is a safe children's play room, with large viewing windows, to keep them happy while their siblings are learning the art of classical ballet.
A restful lounge is provided for parents, grandparents and visitors to relax, study or just take time to catch up on that book you have been wanting to read.
