Why Ballet Huntsville / Academy of Classic Arts?
"I met Clinton through our association with SERBA. He is a knowledgeable and talented dance professional. I have enjoyed getting to know him".
Kitty Seale: Artistic Director, Alabama Dance Theatre

"I am very excited about Ballet Huntsville / Academy of Classic Arts.   There are many dance studios in Madison County that excel nationwide in many types of dance.  But until the Rothwells came to Huntsville there had never been any national recognition given to any Ballet Company from the Huntsville area.  The Rothwells (during their tenure as Artistic Director and Ballet Mistress)changed all that with many of the dancers from Huntsville Ballet Company receiving numerous awards and scholarships to the best ballet schools in America.  Directing, inspiring and encouraging people to excellence is tough business in any field.   The Rothwells have a gift that allows them to bring out the best in all the dancers they train; not just as dancers but as individuals who understand the importance of hard work, discipline and integrity.  The training that my daughter receives from the Rothwells makes her not just a better dancer, but a better person and isn't that really what it's all about.  I have heard some people say that their child may just want to dance for recreation; they may not want to pursue a dance career.  My response is that if your child wanted to play golf for recreation and had an opportunity to train with Tiger Woods would you say no?  Of course not!  In the world of ballet, the Rothwells are Tiger Woods.  Their credentials are amazing...No one in the area is a close second".
Rick and Jenny Black  (parents of dancer Bonner Black)

" The Rothwells put such a positive attitude in what we do. It is a blessing to train under their guidance. Mrs. Carrie takes the time to help us fully understand the movement. They make it fun to dance excellently for the Lord."
Bonner Black (dancer)

"My daughter Brookelyn started dance with Mrs. Rothwell at 3-years old and recently completed her second year. Brookelyn was extremely shy and timid prior to class and even had a hard time walking in the classroom on her own. Mrs. Rothwell brought out the dancer in my daughter which has brought about confidence and boosted her self esteem. Brookelyn looks forward to dance class each week."
Stacy Soohoo  (parent of dancer Brookelyn Soohoo)

"Nancy Kate has such tremendous respect for the Rothwells. They have instilled in these young people the necessity to speak and take responsibility for themselves. Nancy Kate wants to grow in her dance abilities. She has done this with the Rothwells."
Charmion Baugher (mother of dancer Nancy Kate)

"The Rothwells have expectations of us we don't even realize. They see potential in all their dancers."
Nancy Kate Baugher (dancer)

"We have been overwhelmed with what the Rothwells have brought out of our daughter. They have raised her sights in art, discipline, hard work, and respect. Their ability to bring out the best in each child is amazing."
Stewart and Joy Jordan (parents of dancer Emily Jordan)

"The Rothwells have such an intense passion for what they do. They see things in dancers that no one else does.  I love to watch the other dancers growing under their instruction. Mr. Rothwell's choreography is absolutely breathtaking. Mrs. Rothwell completes the Rothwell duo so well. We all love taking pointe class with her, she encourages us to really dance. She works so well with little children, and they just love her. She has such a creative mind, and I love to dance her pieces."
Emily Jordan (dancer)

"Not only has Clinton Rothwell taught our daughter how to give her very best at all times, but he has given her a love and true desire to do that. She is aware of who she is, how important she is to the group and what her responsibility is to him/them and to have her respect a teacher to this degree at such an early age is priceless to us. All that doesn't even touch on the opportunity that we, as "art lovers," have to experience the joy that we feel whenever we are privileged to see their students perform, I "Karen" would HATE to lose that more than anything."
Mike and Karen Hakonsson (parents of dancer, Zoe)

"The Rothwells are the kind of people that make me want to keep dancing. They will not settle for anything less than your best. You can see that they have a real passion for dancing and teaching, and love their students!"
Zoe Hakonsson  (dancer)

"The Rothwells took my daughter's gift of dance to another level. I can not express with words on how talented the Rothwells are in teaching the art of ballet. They are awesome!!!!!!"
Denise Leatherwood (mother of dancer Toi'ya Leatherwood)

"The Rothwells inspired me to dance like I never thought I could."
Jessie Garrison (dancer)

"Mrs. Rothwell is an amazing pointe teacher. Both the Rothwells have a great sense of humor and make training to be a better dancer, fun!"
Emma Montague (dancer)

"As parents, we have watched our daughter blossom under the Rothwell's guidance. Not only have we seen great improvement in her technique, but also in her attitude, drive and discipline. The Rothwells raised the bar and have given the dancers the tools and knowledge to reach this expectation."
Michael and Cheryl Miller (parents of dancer Maggie Miller)

"Finally! A vision for dance in Huntsville by professionals that can make it happen. We eagerly await the possibilities."
Cindy Anderson  (parent of dancers Victoria and Nathanael Anderson)

"I started dance class when I was 20 months old; I'm now 13. I have gained a tremendous amount of knowledge and improved my technique immeasurably in the past two years of study under the Rothwells. Mr. Rothwell expects us to work hard and to give him our best, but he makes the work fun. Both Mr. and Mrs. Rothwell are wonderful teachers and I look forward to learning more from them in the future."
Victoria Anderson  (dancer)

"Carrie Rothwell has a very kind nature. Her way of teaching is unique, she makes me think in ways that brought a whole new discovery to my dancing form. When performing en pointe' the strength gained was compared to none. She is an amazing teacher".
Alison (A. J.) Riccardi  (dancer)
